A bit about me
Hi, I’m Michelle. I’ve been working as a qualified General Practitioner since 2019.
One of the reasons I decided to study medicine was because I recognised the importance of health. Health issues impact the rest of our lives - our home, work and social lives. How valuable is having good health!
I attained my undergraduate degree Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Western Sydney University in 2014. Internship and residency years thereafter were spent at Nepean Hospital, after which I decided to pursue General Practice. I completed my GP training in the New England region - primarily in Manilla, Armidale and Inverell. Since 2020, I have been working at Norwest General Practice in Bella Vista, NSW.
During my training years I completed the Diploma of Child Health, the National Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health with Family Planning Australia, including Implanon training, as well as the Certificate of Dermoscopy with Skin Cancer College Australasia.
I have also completed Focused Psychological Strategies Skills training in order to better help address mental health concerns - with or without a diagnosis. It is a joy and a privilege to be able to assist my patients in this way.
On the days I am not in clinical practice, I tutor medical students at WSU. It is exciting to be able to encourage and train our future doctors.
Outside of work, I am involved with a church plant - Soul Revival Church in Ryde. I also enjoy listening to podcasts that make me think, exploring a variety of music, different kinds of puzzles, and sunrise rockpool visits. Let me know if you have any recommendations!
